Just to show you what a wonderful place this is: Olivia has been there at Pony Camp for 1.5 weeks, and, it has really changed her! She and the little pony Cody bonded in an amazing way, and, are now best friends for life. She has learned how to take care of the horse, brush it, guide it around the paddock, talk to it, sing to it, and has even started to ride the pony and lead it with the reigns. All this in a very short amount of time with the amazing guidance, and patience, of Deborah at Black Sheep Farm.
Black Sheep Farm is a very special place, and, it is much better than any other therapy that we have ever done with Olivia. - Margo Pons |
Equines for Autism strives to work with each individual person to enhance their social skills, encourage speech and balance, provide opportunities for independence. Our program is customized to meet individual needs. Scientific evidence supports that working with the horses provides stress relief and opportunities to build empathy. Our program inherently incorporates fine motor skill mastery and builds confidence in a happy environment working in partnership with the horses, building life long friendships. Participants start out on the ground, working with the horses, and, progress to a riding experience, as is appropriate.
Autism has a very broad spectrum. We work with students that benefit from ground work with our horses, and, if appropriate, can successfully transition to a riding relationship. Our program benefits participants with enhanced social skills, speech development, balance, endurance, and skill building for a more engaged life presence.
We understand autistic people live their lives from their heart. We also understand horses live their lives from their heart. We would like to make a special, and very synergistic, connection for your autistic person with our horses. Contact us today, because we care.
